There is just too much beer in the world to only taste twice a month. In the spirit of more is better the Blind Tiger podcast team has decided to add samplesodes to the podcast lineup. These mini-episodes will feature only tastings of hopefully unique or exotic beer, often on location to keep your Blind Tiger intake at a more regular interval.
Regrettably for us Mike just returned home late last night but his travels are no excuse for a lack of delicious beer themed audio. Despite his slacker sensibilities I carried the banner of the Blind Tiger podcast solo. Because nothing screams nonalcoholic like drinking alone on a Wednesday night. But I wasn’t drinking alone I was drinking with listeners in the future. So it is all socially acceptable.
This episode I review my impressions on Drink Tanks now that I have received one and have had some time to have hands on experience using one. Drink Tanks claim to be the perfect growler and we put that to the test in this episode. Those of you with a good memory might remember that we excitedly posted about their Kickstarter campaign way back in April. Well they finally started shipping and we have one to play with.
While reviewing the growler of the future I was drinking a delicious double IPA from Otter Creek and Lawson’s called Double Dose. This cooperative effort from the two breweries yielded a delicious DIPA. I would say that the beer is unremarkable except that such a description seems pejorative. What I mean to say is that the extraordinary quality of this beer is that it is an impressively solid double IPA. It isn’t overly sweet or overly bitter, it isn’t too thick or thin. What is remarkable about the beer is that it is a double IPA that is just superior to other double IPAs without having to do something radically outside the essence of the style. It is just delicious.
Keep an eye out for the next full episode scheduled for release next Thursday with the full Blind Tiger crew and of course the next samplesode.
Thanks for listening and of course, as always, keep on drinking!Play in new window | Download
