There is just too much beer in the world to only taste twice a month. In the spirit of more is better the Blind Tiger podcast team has decided to add samplesodes to the podcast lineup. These mini-episodes will feature only tastings of hopefully unique or exotic beer, often on location to keep your Blind Tiger intake at a more regular interval.
This week Mike, Jesse, and I gathered in our studio to give you a play-by-play review of the second annual Lancaster Craft Beer Fest. Hosted by the trio at JoyCat Events.
We attended Lancaster’s première craft beer festival last year and despite our minor, nick picky quibbles found the event to be professional and enjoyable. This year the guys got the band back together for a bigger and bolder craft beer festival. The whole block was shut down to accommodate even more breweries, more food, and more frivolity. But bigger isn’t always better and you’ll have to give a listen to see if we loved it more, less, or as much as last year.
No samplesode can go without tasting a least a beer or two in our glasses we couldn’t manage to be teetotalers this episode either. For our tasting pleasures we opened a bottle of Beer Table’s Table Beer by Stillwater Artisanal Ales. The Beer Table’s Table Beer series is a small by prestigious brand of beer that is a challenge to brewers to craft their version of the perfect table beer. That house beer that is more than adequate regardless of meal, locale, weather, or disposition. Is this a beer we could drink forever without complaint? Listen to find out. We also drank a collaboration between Anchorage Brewing Company and Mikkeller as part of Mikkeller’s Alive series. This beer was called AK ALIVE and was considered an Alaskan Wild Ale.Podcast: Play in new window | Download
