Samplesode 28: A Touch of Evil

IMG_0359There is just too much beer in the world to only taste twice a month. In the spirit of more is better the Blind Tiger podcast team has decided to add samplesodes to the podcast lineup. These mini-episodes will feature only tastings of hopefully unique or exotic beer, often on location to keep your Blind Tiger intake at a more regular interval.

This week Mike, Jesse, and myself returned for a trio-samplesode.  Growing tired of the beers of New England we traveled to the distant land of Denmark to sample a few beers from the gypsy brewing company Evil Twin.

This brewing company has made its temporary home in South Carolina and is crafting unique beers with wild and intense flavors.  We ended up sampling a few options that were quite different yet always seemed to be so decisively Evil Twin.

The Beers:

  • Joey Pepper: Belgian Blonde
  • The Porthole: Saison based on blueberry coctail
  • Femme Fatale: Brett IPA with Yuzu fruit

As you can see from these beers’ description they are certainly something different.  The question is whether they are actually any good.  Listen in to find out what we thought about them.  Were they unimpressive of a truly Evil Twin?!?

Join us on our next samplesode as we review the 2nd annual Lancaster Craft Beer Fest!
