Hello and welcome to the 46th episode of the Blind Tiger Podcast recorded on January 13th, 2015. In this episode we follow the grand tradition of spoiling Jesse by pairing Japanese beer with sushi. It may be dangerous to indulge Mr. Clark’s despotic tendencies by caving into his demands for more food and beer pairing but such things really do make for a great experience.
In this episode we take a look at some of what the land of the rising sun has to offer in way of cuisine and beer that is readily available here in central Pennsylvania. We dive deep into the discussion of craft beer hipsterism looking as to whether it is more hipster to demand craft beer drinkers pay homage to the stalwart beers that began the craft beer explosion or if it is more hipster to demand new and exciting beer with no concern for the past? Which is worse. We discuss below.
But before we dive into the nitty-gritty we start off the discussion with our opening question: If you were to drink a beer on your 100th birthday, what would it be?

Point / Counterpoint: Beer Hipsterism Edition
We reported earlier that Jim Koch, founder and owner of the Boston Beer Company created an explosive incident because a local Boston craft beer bar didn’t have a single Sam Adams beer within its walls. The king of craft beer felt his reputation besmirched and took it out upon the owner and employees of this fine establishment for catering to its customer’s whims. This sparked a debate online as to whether the decreasing popularity of Sam Adams as a craft beer is the fault of trendy hipsters always vying for the next white whale or has the tastes of American drinkers changed to the point that Sam Adams omnipresent offerings are no longer relevant? It was an interesting discussion.
